Data sources & methodology

Every price, chart and calculated figure on this site comes from the sources below and is processed the way described here. If something looks wrong, tell us — we correct errors quickly.

Where prices come from

Stocks, stock indices, ETFs, futures, currencies and precious metals: Yahoo Finance market data. Depending on each exchange's licensing, quotes can be delayed by up to 15–20 minutes.

Cryptocurrencies: the OKX spot market, quoted against USDT, around the clock. Market capitalisation and supply come from CoinGecko.

Daily reference exchange rates for less-traded currencies: open.er-api.com. Where a live quote exists (for example USD/TRY, EUR/USD, EUR/TRY), it replaces the daily rate.

Crypto Fear & Greed Index: alternative.me. Blockchain statistics: public network nodes and mempool.space. News headlines: Yahoo Finance.

Real-estate figures are price per square metre in US dollars compiled from public statistics; every record carries its source and year. Map tiles © OpenStreetMap contributors and CARTO.

How often it updates

A dozen headline instruments (Bitcoin, Ether, gold, silver, EUR/USD, USD/TRY, the largest US stocks) are written to our database every 2 seconds, and roughly 140 tracked instruments every 8 seconds. Each upstream refresh is rate-limited so we stay within our providers' fair-use limits; when an exchange is closed its last price is kept rather than re-fetched.

Instruments outside the tracked list are fetched on demand and reused for up to a minute. Live pages show when their data was last updated.

How calculated figures are worked out

Gold and silver: prices follow COMEX front-month futures (GC=F, SI=F), which track the spot price closely. Gram prices divide the troy-ounce price by 31.1034768; lira prices multiply by the live USD/TRY rate. Turkish coins use their standard gross weights at 22 karat (0.916): quarter 1.754 g, half 3.508 g, full 7.016 g, Republic coin 7.216 g. These are spot-based values — jewellers and banks add workmanship and a spread.

Currency and crypto conversions cross through the US dollar: a coin's lira price is its USDT price multiplied by USD/TRY, with USDT and USDC taken at their 1-dollar peg. Local exchanges can trade at a small premium or discount.

Performance and risk metrics use closing prices: annualised volatility is the standard deviation of daily log returns over the past year multiplied by √252 (√365 for crypto); maximum drawdown is the largest fall from a running peak; beta and correlation use daily simple returns aligned by date; seasonality uses month-end closes from weekly bars.

Scores, projections and support/resistance levels are mechanical model outputs from historical data. They describe the past and are not forecasts or recommendations.
